Sounds fantastic to me, but I know nothing of tournament fishing. I wished I did, I would be beside ya. Let me check the dates of these tournaments and distance from my house that these lakes are. I have a Lowe Stinger 195 that is set up for spider rigging, pushing/pulling cranks, and solo polling. Also have a bimini top. I do not have a terrova, but do have a fortrex. Humminbird 859 and 899. I can contribute a boat as well if this works out for us. If you dont mind, and I am able to commit myself to it, would you be ok with fishing with an amatuer tournament partner? I have crappie fished my whole life, just not in tournaments.

Just a word of advice. Fishing for fun and tournament fishing are two different sports. I have many friends who I enjoy fun fish'n with, but only a select few with which I would fish a tournament.

You should be fine...go fish a tournament or two to get your feet wet...its not always that serious as some people like to make it seem. Just give it shot..learn how to fish some lakes that are hosting some tournaments..you could have some good days and mess up and win or place in a few..id say go for it...

Just jump in and go, that's the only way to get started.

Feesh is shooting it straight for sure. Would like to invite you to come fish some of the MS Fruit Jar tourneys with us. Great place to get your feet wet and learn. I tournament fishing partner is hard to come by, can fish with anyone when the fesh are biting good but when you spend 3 days in the boat and only get one BITE in those 3 days it better be someone you are very compatible with. Also, if it ever gets to the point you arent having fun walk away from it and go back to fun fishing. I love crappie fishing but what I love more is the time I spend in my rig or in someone else's enjoying the day on the water and making memories, life is too short for anything less!!!!!
