Thread: White Bass Spawn

I know this topic may want some of the diehard crappie folks to string me up, but has anyone been catching white bass in Arkabutla or Sardis? I am a bank fisherman (who ain't afraid to do a little wading--at least not at this time of the year). If you don't mind, i'd appreciate it if you mentioned some spots worth fishing. (Sorry guys, i would have put this up at the MWFDP, but as we know, they locked the fora over there.)

I went back to Lakeview yesterday and caught 3 more of them in the runoff. And that was all I caught. They were all about 10 inches. I thought I was catching the same fish over and over.

Somebody get a rope.

Haven't heard of any being caught to speak of in the tributaries of Grenada yet.

I caught some white bass at Enid over the weekend. Caught 6 on Friday and 2 each on Saturday and Sunday. They were mixed in with all of the small largemouth bass, crappie and catfish. Caught some on minnows and some on swimbaits, they haven't gotten in full swing yet but it shouldn't be much longer, at least at Enid. Check the MDWFP website for the fishing reports for the other lakes, they are still publishing these. Good luck.

I think bass are just high grade carp, Lol. :D

Oh..and BTW! I was using minnows that I doused with that free "Liquid Minnow" fish attractant that I got from here! I had it in my boat bag, and after a couple hours of catching just one bass, I remembered it and thought I'd give it a try. It may have just been my perception, but I know the bites got better, and I caught the last two all within an hour.
