so am i right by thinking, i you snag it, you can keep it. as long as you are in compliance with the size hook, which is no certain size from march till nov and never treble hooks. no more of the old "from the gills forward " business. drove by the spillway today and they was a yankin away. one ole fella told me they was pullin em in. said a fella jus left with 20.
You can find all of the rules and regs over at Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks

I didn't see any rules about snagging in this link, but I believe folk can yank away these days. Once those fish go through the chute, they're dead to me.

MS, you pretty much have the correct info. Snagging is legal, no more than 2 hooks or jigs, hook size is #2 or smaller Dec. thru Feb., no trebles except on a lure that comes from the manufacturer that way, still #2 or smaller.
If you can get them to the bank, snagged anywhere, they are yours. By the way, with the new regs., snagging with the above rules is legal everywhere, 24/7, in the state of Mississippi.
Shame on us. What have we become?
I will not be doing any of it.![]()
