    Default My Saturday evening

Went fishing for a bit Saturday. Would've fished longer but the wind was not friendly to me, and for some reason I couldn't keep the fish on my hook. I'm going to have to fetch me one of them long handled dipnets. I'm suspecting they might make it easier to get the fish in the boat. Anybody use them and can tell me whether they are help or just another pain in the butt to mess with?

Good fish Max! A net is a big help in the boat. An ego, like Maj just bought, is tangle free and very light weight. I use a tangle free rubber net, but these are very heavy.

I also bought one of the ego nets and really like. It stretches way out there and is pretty darn light for its size. And also GREAT FISH!@!!

Thank you gentlemen. Any suggestions on where I might pick one of them up? My favorite walmart don't carry none, or didn't the last time I considered buying one.

The rubber nets can be had at wal-mart, or Basspro. I believe you have to order the ego online.

Would this be last Saturday Max? The same saturday that Duckhunter, Satdoc and Torch fished all day with exactly 1 fish to split between them?

Well, now, I'd say you've moving up in the world.

    Congrats!

And when you get that new net, be sure to put one notch on it.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Affirmative. I was at Long Branch which appears to be the only place I go. BUT I'm thinking about spreading my wings and branching out to explore the rest of the lake....not too sure about it though. Last time I crossed the lake, I got caught in a storm and was pretty sure I was going to die. If it hadn't been for the good Lord's grace and Him giving me enough sense to load the boat down with bilge pumps, I'd probably still be out there.

Hahaha. I shant be doing no bragging. I know them fellas, and they know that my limit is right around 2. AND I'll consistently catch my two when they are catching 20 each.

NOW for the net...after our discussion, I remembered that I had me a spare walmart net out there in the shed. So I popped the top off of it, jammed me a great big long pole up in it, screwed about 7 or 8 screws in it, and I now own a 9' foot dip net. Seems pretty tough. I don't suspect it would lift nothing heavy but I don't suspect I'll be catching nothing too heavy.

And it cost me exactly....nothing. so if it turns out to be worth nothing, I ain't out nothing.
