Thread: Questions for Mississippi Members

I have never been to your great state, and I am due to be dispatched either to your state or your neighbor to the West, Louisiana. I will be down there during the month of December selling fireworks. I don't know what city or area of the state I could put in at this time. I am just trying to get a little ahead of the game. I will be pulling my own RV trailer and I will be staying on site.

My questions to you are:

Is there one cell phone company that works better than others down there? I have Verizon up here in Missouri.

Also what is the daily average temperature in your state during the month of December? Do I need to pack my coveralls?

Any other ideas or suggestions that you could provide would be helpful. Either PM me or post it on this thread.

I have been talking with Speckhunter from Missouri who says that you have some of the best crappie fishing in the nation.

Kinda depends on what part of the state you're gonna be in. If it's near the coast the weather is pretty mild in December, farther north will be cooler. I'm like a boyscout, I believe in being prepared. Bring shorts and coveralls! And, yes we have the best crappie fishin' in the country.

Verizon will work around Columbus, MS, but AT&T is the most used around here.

cell south works great and you better bring coveralls just to be sure. If you come to central ms give me a shout thats a great time to catch some slabs.

When I moved to Oxford from Florida a year and a half ago, Verizon was so-so around here. My cell service would go in and out when I would be traveling out from town. They told me they were acquiring more towers around here and the cell reception has gotten a lot better at least around north Mississippi over the last several months.

Thanks guys for your input! If I get dispatched to Mississippi I am sure going to look around for some Crappie spots to come back and fish. Can't do any fishing this trip this is all business. Going to be selling fireworks for New Years! From what I hear you guys really go nuts for New Years more so than what you do during July 4th.

You know this is what I like about CDC members everyone is always willing to help out another member!
