Fishing was slow but we finally managed to catch 8 keepers pulling crankbaits.I saw a lot of boats off Point 6 that were slow trolling but I didn't see many fish caught.Fish seemed to stop biting around 1:00.
Can you show me a picture of a crank bail to crappie? Thanks. Also, how far behind the boat? How deep?

Ain't worth trying at Ross barnett. I did have a little success early this summer but as the summer wore on, the bite died as well. Most I caught in 1 day was about 10, then went downhill to nothing.

bk60, glad to hear ya'll were able to catch some. CWT and I didn't get to go yesterday. Sounds like the weather is gonna be good all week. Are they still deep?
Glad you got a few, but if you would put the cranks away and slow down, you might do better. I limited out with jigs and minners. Were you the pontoon or the Tracker whizzen by? :D![]()

WFG,we caught all our fish in 30-35 ft. of water using dark colors.Never caught a fish on the pink.Feelay, I was in a 18ft.Bass America that was circling out from Point 6.Were you in that group of boats slow trolling?
DonDon, don't give up on it, it might be totally different next year or one
after. Some of my old never-fail summer cranking hotspots up here were
slow to warm up, got fair for a week or two end of June, then just
FIZZLED. I think the cool spells, lots of rain and so on just wrecked the
normal patterns.

every time I went we had white caps on the lake so that may have hurt my chances. I'm sure I will try it again next summer though. Main reason I was pulling cranks is cause of the white caps and I wanted to be on the lake fishing. Kinda hard to push jigs with 3 foot waves bouncing ya up and down though
