    Default Bimini top?

The wife is wanting me to put one on da bote for her. Any thoughts, recommendations or ideas?

Oh, BTW, about 1/2 a mile from the Dam at Enid, I sunk a new piece of structure. 4' long, 6' around. Kind of resembles an umbrella. It should be holding fish by the 8th if anyone wants to try it.

    Wannabe...

Who'd a knowed them things could sink so fast.

Man, I been thinking on the same thing. Saw a couple boats like ours yesterday with bimini's. The shade would be great, just don't know if I could work around it or not. I've seen them for less than $200.

Shut up torch, or I'll smack you around. And then you'll be sorry. Don't you have some boat rigging you should be doing about now?

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering too Fillet. A 2 bow or even a 3 would not be much forward of the console and would give 5 to 6' or coverate, but the forward support strap would mean that my holders would be between the metal support and the strap support. Guess I could put another base forward of the strap for those time when I trolled with the top up and would just have to walk up IF I get a fish. That's pretty much the cost I'm seeing - sub $200 depending on the top material. Another consideration is how tall it shoud be. I'm 5'10" and I'm thinking a 5' tall one would be the ticket after you added the side height, it's should be in the range of 6.5'. Then again, if you stepped up to the back deck, it would be too low. You think I should go with 6'?

I would think the taller the better. The good thing about my holders, they are in a track on the gunwale, I can slide them anywhere along the length of the boat. I'm just not so keen about drilling more holes in my boat.

    Wannabe,

I have this one. definitely go with an eight foot if you can. It has made a huge difference for all of us. Keeps shade off during real hot days and make fishing time longer. Cost me about $350 but definitely worth it. These are made for Basspro by westland covers. They also have a website at westlandcovers.com
