Thread: Cutoff

anyone been to the cutoff in the last few days? are they still biting there at all? i really wanted to go somewhere monday and take the kids if i can let them catch a few fish.

yep.....have at it...went on Saturday , did pretty good ....came away with 13 ..but I only left cuz i ran out of minnows.. did not get a good count......

I was finished by noon.........

You trollin , or fishing the brush?

Heard a report of two guys catching around 80 crappie trolling in 18 FOW and fishing 14 feet deep on Friday. Heard that they were fishing with minnows. Second hand report...didn't talk to the guys myself so don't know for sure about accuracy. Report came from a reputable souce though.

They bit great yesterday. Me and a buddy kept 91... Storm had them messed up today i guess. I went back this morning and didn't get to start until around 8:30. Quit @ 1:00 with 34 by myself. I think i finally got this pic posting down. This is about 65 of the catch yesterday. Much better fish caught yesterday as compared to this morning. We fished anywhere from 12-18 fow and fished around 12 ft. deep...

started with pole fishing did not get a single bite or gar....

went to trolling and landed the 13 in about 3 hours, which is a good day for me.....

plenty of action , anywhere in the "deep" water....trolled just back and forth more across and back than long ways..going from 14 to 26 feet deep.....

went today and managed to just find the fish when the dang storm from heck blew in... the cutoff got seriously rough in a matter of seconds.. on my way in an older man had snagged his prop on an old torn up net and swamped his boat. I managed to cut him loose and get his boat to the bank close to one of the old ramps so maybe he could get it .. then ran him into the boat dock.I tried pulling it with my boat but the waves were so bad and his boat was so swamped it was threatening to swamp mine out to.People that leave those old half rotten nets in the water should be shot.

+1 on shooting the old rotten net leaver outers....

Nets Suck!!!
