Default fish food question

Buddy of mine's got a catfish pond - told me he'd heard something about
catfish farmers using the corn by-products from making ethanol
for fish food - any of ya'll know anything about this? Told him I'd ask.

I'm wondering if it has to go through some other process first, or what -
like to make pellets out of it maybe?
He said he could get the stuff, but it's sort of a powder...
Thanks, Jeff

I've heard of the same thing......matter of fact, there's an ethanol plant here in MS that takes the byproduct and sells it to the fish farmers. Not sure what form it comes in and I've heard the protein or whatever the good part is, is not as high from the by product, but it's cheaper for the fish farmer since it's a waste product of the ethanol plant.

Wannabe...

corn in any form (except white lightening) will get you some fishes, Jeff. So will beans of any kind. Cheap dog food works well, too.

I just use the tried and true....floating catfish food. They keep it at the country store down the road from me so I don't even have to go to town to get it.

I think that's what he's using now, but going through a WHOLE BUNCH of it.

Maybe I was wrong to call it a catfish pond - it's more like a catfish
ocean I think
