Default 'BUTLA on Friday and Saturday

I am planning on fishing Arkabutla on Friday and Saturday. Can anyone give me any advice on where to launch and what depths have been producing. I am planning on slow trolling with minnows but I am also set up to pull cranks. Which would be best? Thanks for any info you can offer.

All ramps are open. Read the Butla thread, it has a lot of info about what's going on. Good Luck!

Don't be scared to fish in 6 to 8 fow. Butla is crazy like that.

Tlow is absolutly right......Arkabutla is crazy like that ....no real ryhyme or reason to any of it, but when you find the fish they're worth the effort. If you troll crankbaits try to stay in 14 ft of water close to the old river channel and they have developed a taste for pink Bandits lately.....caught a limit Sunday and today.

vhouston2 is right.. cranks have been good in 12-15 fow, and minnows in 6-8 fow. Hernando point is a good place to launch, and also Dub Patton boat ramp is good. Some 2 lber's has been caught fishing 6-8 feet of water straight out from ramp on the right side of shrubbery on back trolling medium speed.

have good success!!!!!

Tried shallow running cranks in 6-8 ft of water......sometimes that works like a champ.....not this time. Stay over that 12-15 ft water and Hernando Point is an excellent place to launch and start. Fish out and down from the boatramp and then go straight across and fish down to Kellys Crossing.....fish can be hard to find.

Thanks for all of the advice. The weather is looking like I might need to bring a jacket, I saw the high on friday is only 90. It sure beats 100.
