Default Slip cork

I'm using the smallest rubberband that I can find to make the knot for slipcorking but it gets stuck in the tip eyelet. Can I use 4lb line for this knot?? Or, have you anything else to suggest. Thanks.

I use 6 lb test for the knot on my 4# line and it works fine. I got some very tiny hollow beads from a hobby shop to use between the knot and the bobber. It doesn't take hardly any weight at all to pull that light line thru the bobber. Spider rigging and slipcork fishing are my favorite methods and they each have their place. I use the slipcork when fishing our 45 ft local lake to keep the bait just above the cover and it works real good!! There are certain times of the year when spider rigging won't work very well on Lake Monticello. That's when you have to get sneaky!!

I use the little rubber bobber stops from bass pro. I have tried rubber bands, the string type bobber stops, the dog bone style bobber stops, even dental floss....but I like the little rubber ones...they are real easy to put on and they do not hang up with me.

On the rare occasion I use one.... I like the pre - made ones that are a string around a little straw. It is basically a string tied in a surgeons knot I believe. I don't know if what you describe would work or not.

Like Sat, using a cork is beneath me.

you might want to listen to him on the corks. Heck, he's been back fishing for what, a month and is wearing you out already on feshing. Those 7 he caught this weekend were more than you caught yo last 5 trips combined. now, go grab yoself a cork and git after it

No.

I also don't sit on 5 gallon buckets and you'll never catch me with a straw hat on or a strang tied to my toe. If you want to go all Huck Finn on me, have at it, but I've got standards.
