    Default Gunn Lake (10-17-08)

Tried a different lake today with my brother, Bruce.
Made our way in there and found fish right away but they were runninng small. Moved around quite a bit and finally ended up with some better fish, with crappies going up to 12" and gills up to 9".

Again, bringing minnows along was a total waste of time and money, as the best baits were small plastics, like Northland's Slurpie "Mini Panfish Tube" and Berkely's "Atomic Teaser". They didn't even care for the small hair jigs today but drop down one of these plastics and BANG!

Probably caught close to 50 fish througout the day. Not one pike. Strange (but good).

Water was 51-52 degrees. Air temp in the mid-high 30's. Cool on the fingers but I always say, "if your fingers are cold, your catching fish!"

    Thanks Michael ~

Although I fish for practically everything that swims, like yourself, I probably fish for crappie more than anything. Love that fish!

Heading out again in one minute to try a different body of water or two. Like to experiment.

    Regards.......GC
