Default Minneapolis Metro Lakes

Got out on Lake Sarah out near Rockford.Caught 1 small crappie, and 1 small bass on a red/pink hair jig today.Fish were tight lipped due to ice just coming off the lake...but fishing is fishing.Just glad I got my line wet.

Default 4-15 and 4-15

Was out on Tonka Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday
Fished Wayzata Bay near the old Boatworkx.Caught some dandy crappies shooting the docks in 14 fow 6 feet down using Lobybaits DragnMag,Maki's,and Stoni's.Also caught some on my micro jigs.Yellow,Green, and Black were the hot colors. You had to keep the bait moving to get them to bite.Any dead sticking provided no bites.

Also tried Seton, and Black Lake which did'nt provide any decent hits.Moved over to the northern part of the main lake and caught more crappies with some size up along Shoreline Drive.

Sunday
Went back to the main lake area and had the area all to ourselves. No other boats in sight.Caught our limit of decent crops in 10 fow 5 feet down. Most were 3/4 of a pound to a pound.Hot color was anything pink.

With the warmer temps this week...it's time to get out to the lakes, and enjoy the crappies that are feeding.Keep your baits moving to entice strikes, and change your color patterns often. It will pay off.

The biggest key in the early season when the water is still cold is too stay small.
