Thread: Normandys Water depth Level. Any need for concern?

I remember the lake around 4 years ago was a good bit away from the ramps. People were launching boats by the bridge. Of course it is blocked off now but I'm sure where there is a will there is a way. I really hope it doesn't get that bad.
I just hope it rains enough to maintain. If they would have held the water back in Feb when we were getting all the rain we would been ok now.
If we have to be secluded on Woods we may go stripe crazy...lol.

There was a report about Normandy on the Nashville news about a week ago. They said that it was over 2 foot lower now than at the same time of year when we had the drought. I remember going up one afternoon and I was afraid to even try to launch my boat. At that time I still had the bass tracker
it was pretty light weight. If we don't get some good rain we may want to reconsider a night tourney there. I would be afraid to get out there at night with the water that low.

They ran a story on Normandy last night on Channel 4 out of Nashville. They said the water was a foot and a half lower yesterday than it was on the same date the year of the drought. I know we've got some chances of rain in the 10 day outlook, but I'm not sure at this point if we'll get enough to make a difference on Normandy or Tims for that matter. Lake levels on both lakes are extremly low for this time of year. I may ride out there this evening to see what the ramps look like.

Went out last monday and the lake was down about a foot from the previous week. This morning on the news the manager of Normandy lake said that if we dont get any good rains to help fill the lake that there would be water restrictions later this summer. Am not looking foward to not being able to get out as I fish this lake most often. Never did car much for Woods and from what I am hearing Tim's isnt much better lake level wise. Rain is in the forcast so lets hope we get a few big ones. And yes the manager really messed up by not letting the lake fill up more in Feb and March.

With Normandy being 1.5 to 2. feet lower than during the drought at same time....we might have to consider moving the normandy tournaments to other lake if it keeps falling.........Does anyone know how much more it can drop til we cant use barton springs ramp?

I can go down at least another 6' before you have trouble at Barton Springs. Ramps are good for now. You will just have to adjust the fishing spots you would normally use. Adapt just like the fish do. Most of the attractors that the TWRA have put out are a little shallow for this time of year with the current water levels.

As far as Normandy is concerned, we have been watching closely at its water level and since June 1st, it appears Normandy has fell about 2 feet at least so far this month. Some rain would be good for all of our lakes, but especially Normandy. If the water levels keep falling, Randy Clark may be fishing over dry ground during the night tourney.Rofl Lets hope he has to make some kinda change, cuz after last tourney, Im afraid they on em.
