Been reading the Middle Tennessee Post for sometime now. As a rule I have fished PP or out at Cuba Landing on Kentucky Lake. Although I have fished many times for trout below Normandy Dam I have never fished Normandy Lake. Put is at first light and ran the lake looking for fish on my electronics. First, hit the trees on Carrol Creek under the power lines, nothing. Finally, ran to down stream to Boyd Branch Boat Ramp and found a significant amount of fish on the electronics just out from the ramp. On the map there's a bridge down there in about 30 foot of water. All fish were holding at 15-20 FOW. Me and the partner dropped jips and minnows there most of the day till the storm blew up and we headed for the bridge. Same thing afterwards at Boyd Branch and still no luck. I would like to start fishing Normandy more oftern so any pointers and locations would be greatly appreciated. I'll be in the Monark Pro 900 with the 90 HP Mercury 4 Stroke. It's a 19 footer. Holler at me if you see me on the lake. Thanks
Just look for confused lookin guys with their eyes on the electronics, they'll be some of us!! lol I live here and don't know that lake very well, have to get on it more. Welcome to the site, I'm in an 18' Bumble Bee with a 150 mariner, the blue one with rod holders up front. Tight lines.

Skeetbum of all the people saying look for the confused guys. I was hoping for a little more help from someone with your experience. I saw your numbers on the Woods post. How about a few pointers for Normandy. I know your not going to give me your spots, but a least let me know if I'm warm or cold on the lake. For the rest of you guys on Normandy how about a little help in the right direction? Lets just say it like it is, I need some crappie on the table to make Momma happy. Thanks fellas.![]()
Have fished Normandy just 3 times myself and have found it to be a challenge.First trip for 2 hours, no fish, 2nd trip 17 with 16 being all shorts, and trip 3 was 15 with 9 being keepers.Lots of sunken cover on that lake.Fish where mostly all relating to cover.Try The main 2 creeks there beating the wood.Lots of pressure on Normandy too.I have friends who seem to think they bite better there at night. The black nose crappie seem to be what Ive seen caught the most what little I have fished it.Good luck to you.
Fever, all kidding aside, I've been on Normandy twice in a year. Tim's and Normandy have lots of recreational traffic. If I'm gonna fish it, it'll be early and I wrap up shortly after the first jet ski or ski boat go by. I showed C1BigoCarp all I knew about Normandy in the last trip, and none of it worked tourney day. Back to square one. I can show you technique's I use, and let you see what you're looking for on the depth finder, but I have no inside scoop on Normandy. Woods will be a different story as that is my "Go To" lake. The car just drives itself to the ramp. I'll do what I can, others here have done it for me and it helps a lot. Nothing can beat time on the water and keeping your eyes open to who's where and why. Welcome aboard.

CF, Before the drought I would catch crappie on brush on the points. Now the brush is gone and rotted away. The last time there we had 24 keepers caught around the standing timber in Carrol creek. Some of the members have success fishing around the boat docs that are there. You have to jig the trees or else you will stay hung up. Try the the 12' and shallower depth to begin with.
