Default Help on Old Hickory please...

I am new to crappie fishing. I have caught some in brush in the past while bass fishing, but I have never targeted crappie. I have been fishing at night with floating light, but haven't had any luck. I fish from an old Coleman Scanoe with a trolling motor and bow/stern lights. No fishfinder on board. The canoe is very stable, but I prefer not to be anchored in the middle of the lake at night. I would like to find some fish in one of the creeks or coves near the lower end of the lake. I am only 5 minutes from the boat ramp at Rockland.

Can anyone give me some advice on where to find crappie at night on Old Hickory?
I know good fishing spots are usually closely guarded secrets, so feel free to PM me.
BTW - I rarely keep any fish for eating - its been 6 years since I've taken any home.

The Club fishes Normandy, Woods and Tim's primarily, and I don't know if any of the members know much about OH. Now we can put you on em on the three we fish if you don't mind the drive. Now that the water is going to begin to cool, I'm looking forward to the increased activity. Most of us fish jigs of one type or another. Panfish Assasin in several colors and 1/32 to 1/8 oz jig heads get the most play. Black/gray, albino, and black/chartruese are good starters. BPS usually has the bodies and wally world will save a few bucks on the jig heads. I use the ones with the red hook, an ongoing contraversy as to weather they make a difference. Go cheap til you gain some confidence cuz you're gonna lose some in the brush, no way around it. Weedless heads help some. Welcome to the most complete forum of it's kind and let us know how you progress. Tight lines.
