Well I was suprised that there weren't more people there based on the posts from everyone. Maybe next time.
Mike (Mmavel) and I hooked up and got aquainted, got to meet his wife and daughter. We went around the lake on Sat. and looked for others, but didn't find anyone. Not sure how we missed each other, but had Kevin (Skillet007) and his buddy James come up and talk to me at a gas station just outside the park when I was leaving for home.
Nobody pulled up any really big fish, but we caught lots of small whites out in deep water (24-35 FOW). Didn't seem like it mattered how you presented your baits or what colors, they were all small fish. Marked larger ones, but couldn't pull 'em up.
Talked w/ Mike about another try at getting people together, maybe this fall sometime.

well i wish i could of made it but with my circumstances i wasn't able to, sorry to here there was some no shows but I'm sure you guys understand things come up and plans change.
Was there any other kind of fish caught, also what size were most of them. and it sounds like the fish being out so far there not ready to spawn yet or more then likely the females are out and the males are in there beds ?

being that you were over there how were the fish bitting
We did about the same, shallows to deep small crappie bout 3-5inchers. I caught one bout 11inch so they do have bigger fish but 10 times as many small crappies I also caught a lm bass 14in. The next outing will result in bigger fish![]()

I was there too!! A "Gal Pal" and I arrived about noon Sat & stayed overnight in a tent at site #35. It was pretty windy for the Kayak's but we managed to catch several small Crappie & gills also. Nothing over 5" or so and all in shallow water about knee deep.
We walked around the campground & looked for anyone with a Crappie.com Decal but didn't see any. Maybe in the future we can plan a couple "meet up" times during the day so we can find one another. Was a fun trip anyway.

I was in a fifth wheel in site #12 and had a Michigan C.com decal plastered to the front w/ my screen name. I don't know how I missed you on the water either. I have several decals on my boat and my daughter and I were going around asking people if they were C.com members.
You are right about being more organized next time. We will post several cell #'s and prolly ask for #'s of those planning on coming. Also will set up a "gathering location/time" to make sure everyone connects.
I did see a couple fishing off a point across the lake in the calm waters. Was that you and a friend? We were right there in a Bass Tracker too.

Yankee,
I'm pretty sure I saw your rig at the campground but you were out on the water when we were by.
We were in the yak's in the calm water across from the boat launch for a short while. Someone was spider rigging a couple rods in front of a cove near us. We tried to stay out of their way. We did not like fighting the wind so we were not out long. We went into Hudson & had dinner at Margarita's restaurant & watched the Red Wings play Sat night & left for home about 10 AM Sun morning.
Next time I'm bringing the Bass Boat too, I think we'd have fished longer in a bigger boat.
It is a nice place to visit. We had fun so it was worth the 1 1/2 hour trip. Sorry I missed meeting up with you, maybe next time.

that will be a little more organized. We also talked about having it at a lake that's a little more centrally located, poss. around the Lansing area. Next time we will get the cell #'s of all who are planning on showing, set a rendevous location at the lake, say the boat launch, and a time to meet during the day so all can get aquainted. Keep an eye out on this board for more info.
Check your PM's. I'm sending you one.
