    Hey Everyone,

    Here it is, that special time of year.

    Crappie.com camp.

    This year the torch has been passed to my brother Tyler and myself and we will do our very best. The location we have chosen for 2018 is our favorite crappie waters, Houghton lake.

    For new members, newcomers, or people who might be interested, Crappie camp is open to all. We are a family friendly event. This event is zero cost to you. We encourage you to come, your family, spouse, kids, and significant other are welcome as well. In the upcoming months there will be posts for head counts (how many will be there), who wishes to bring what foods for the potluck Saturday, who will bring disposable utensils? And an agenda of events which may have minor changes depending on time availability.

    Schedule of Events
    Friday: Liars club/Meet and Greet at the camp
    We meet, have a few laughs, always a good time had by all. Our meet ups are a time for crappie.com members to meet one another and interact, boast about the one that got away. We'll also take care of any business, introduce new members, discuss rules for Saturdays fishing event, bring out Steve's "initiation goat," (where did it go last year?), and hand out C.C t-shirts (orders for which shall be posted later in a thread).

    Saturday: We hold a friendly fish tournament, this is not a professional tourney. Rules and timelines will be fully discussed Friday evening. We'll have a weigh in, and plenty to eat. After, there will be games, naps, prizes, and possibly a raffle.

    I hope to see you all there.

    Thanks for sticking it to the top for me Steve. We're sure to have a good time this year whether we catch Crappie or not. If you or anyone else has ideas for games or prizes, I'm open to all suggestions. We have a few good games to play that will test our skills a bit.

    I have called the campground and left a message, but no one has gotten back to me yet. I am heading up there this weekend, so I will make a personal visit. Any particular question you guys would like me to ask? I have a few that I'm asking for sure. pavilion costs and deadlines. likeliness of the place being mostly ours and whatnot.
    I have a cabin up that way on the south shore, but I will mostly be on the campsite for as much time as possible. getting everything ready.

    I spoke with Scott from the West Houghton lake campground (the campsite). I asked him a few questions, the pavilion is available for rent, he has plenty of sites available and is willing to help clump our rigs and tents together on the campground.

    Also, be sure to mention you are making reservations for crappie.com and he will give you 20%!

    I tried calling up there twice yesterday and just got a recording. could you ask them if they have any full hook up spots available?

    Got our site reserved, going to stay a week. June 4-11th. Got $36 Crappie.com discount. I just emailed the campground and they wrote back quick.
