    Default MICDC fall outing

Well there's been some discussion in other posts about this, so this post is the early warning for those who might be thinking about making it. After this post I won't be discussing it again until time gets a little closer.

The outing will be at Yankee Springs State Rec area on Gun lake on Sept. 18.

For those who will be making a weekend of it, which I highly recommend, you need to make reservations real early or you won't get a site close to the channel. Some of us have booked already.

    Exclamation Drumming up business!

After talking with Jim (Ready2Fish) this past weekend over some refreshments, I started to think about the fall fishing outing and how great a time we had at the past outings. I'm hoping that by posting some experiences from the past, I might encourage a few people to make it to the outing this September. I can't guarantee the fishing, or the weather. I can however guarentee a great time with great people.

MICDC FALL 2009 YANKEE SPRINGS SRA
We had great weather and lots of great eats. Getting to know each other and sharing stories around the campfire was a blast and extremely relaxing. We had members Steelguy and his son-in-law, Ready2Fish, Skillett007 and his wife, my daughter, my wife, and I attending. The tourney was won by Steelguy and his son-in-law taking most weight, and heaviest fish. Kudos to them!:D

    MICDC SPRING 2010 WIXOM LAKE
For this outing the weather played a crazy hand with some colder than expected temps. We made the best of it, and Slabsrus did a great job of lining up our camping accomodations and made a mean pork loin on the spit! As tradition would have it, we ate well. Members that made it out were Ready2Fish, Skillett007, Slabsrus (with a cameo appearance by Slabkid). Islandreef also made it out for a sit around the campfire. More stories around the campfire of course, and although the fishing was not the best a few were caught. We all went home with fond memories and some awesome pencil sketches done by our very own Slabsrus.

My hope is that each outing will draw in a few more members. I am continuing to research sponsors and compiling "stuff" for the tourney awards, and door prizes. There will be additional posts from me in hopes that we can add some attendees to the list of those who want to sample Franks awesome grilled pork loin and the infamous black bean salsa! If you want to enjoy food, fellowship and a bit of fishing, then keep Saturday September 18 open on your calendar!

Good to hear that Kevin. What site did you end up with?

You're right across the road from us. Good to have you so close. We'll have our own little MICDC hood! John (Steelguy) will be in 75.

Default Check this out and give me some feedback please...

Getting things around for next month and was thinking about putting some of fliers up at a few local tackle shops. What do you think about that? I figured any publicity we can reel in couldn't hurt.

If the majority of replies are positive, then I'll go ahead. If some of you want to do the same, send me an email and I will attach the .doc file and ship it back to ya. I wanted to attach it to this post, but the file size is too big even when it's zipped. Basically the MICDC banner image at the top with details about the tournament, who we are and how we are associated with C.com, and my email addy for more info.
