Managed to get out for a few hours on Friday. The good news is the fish were where I thought they would be, the boat ran well, and I remembered to put the drain plug in. The bad news was the fish weren't hungry. They were stacked up in about 20 fow.wouldn't even hit a ficious jig tipped with minnow, waxie, or spike. Have to give it another go next week! As much as I enjoy the hard water it felt good to get the boat out. Don't think I have ever had her in the water this early.
It was really hard not to do the same. Honey do's to do first.
Where abouts were you fishing?

Camp lake in sparta. Did well thru the ice so I figured I'd give it a shot. This is my first season targeting specks during the softwater season, so it will take me some time to figure the lake out.Good luck this season.
Yup. You have a great season too. I am limited to lakes south of me in Allegan Co. due to time constraints, but would like to try to get to some others on the weekends this year.
You ought to check out our spring MICHIGAN CRAPPIE DOT COM spring outing post and try to make it. Get to meet some of the people you chat with.

I am hoping to make it out this coming weekend. I spent this past weekend installing electric anchor mates on my tracker. Getting too old to lift anchors out of deep water. Should put the finishing touches on it tonight or tomorrow. All i have left to do is install the console switches and feed line to the battery compartment for power. Then line the spool and attach the anchors. No more lifting anchors. Yeah!![]()
