Wixom Lake in Gladwin County
Houghton Lake in Roscommon County
This poll will determine which lake we hold the spring fishing outing on. The list covers a broad geographical area. The lake with the most votes will be the one we fish. Vote for one lake please. All lakes on the list have campgrounds.
The outing will be held on Saturday May 8. This date is not negotiable. We have tried to give options in the past and found that only created more headaches. Hopefully this date will work for most people. If it doesn't work for you perhaps the fall outing in September will.
Some of us will be making a weekend out of it, and all are welcome to do the same, although we realize that not everyone can, or wants to camp. It will be each parties responsiblility to book campsites if the campground takes reservations. There is a list of website links for each campground on the list.
Saturday morning will be yours to do with as you please. We will all be meeting for a group lunch (more on that later) around 11:30 or so. The fishing tournament will start at 2 pm and run until 6 pm with weigh in immediately afterwards. Hopefully this will give those who need to travel back home Saturday enough time. Prizes or awards and the "unofficial" rules will come later.
Hopefully we will have a good turnout. We had a great time last fall. If you have wanted to meet some of the Crappie.Com people you have been lying to, this will be your opportunity. There's bound to be some good eats too! I would just put this plug in...it's a lot more fun to make a weekend of it, so if you can, I would. Some of the best lying happens around the campfire.

Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
With no one voting yet maybe we should see who is really interested in doing this first and go from there.
Any one want to attend?
I will be there with myself and a boat with room for one more, the only bad thing is i troll a lot but will adapt to how the fish are bitting.

i thought there were a lot of folks talkin bout comin to the spring outing. i hope many can make it. if they dont, then im afraid i will have to eat all of that great salsa and fish roll ups by myself, oh yea make sure u bring enough for u Y.D:D
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
Well we know the John probably won't make it, as he is pretty busy with tournaments that time of year, but I am kinda suprised that no one has voted yet. I guess we let it run for a while, and if the turnout is low, we go with what works best for those who do vote.
It might be the 3 of us and Mike M. from the east side.![]()

I am planning on coming,But I am new to this and there are regulars so I do not want to vote but rather let the old timers chose the lake. I would like to stay at a good campground that has a boat ramp if possible.
hahahahah, old timers.. thats you don :D just kidding
you are right don, i will be fishing tournaments every weekend in may and several in june, kind of why i stayed out of these posts.but i sure plan on making a fall outing again if we have one!!!!
i am hoping to get out after some crappie this weekend, just not sure where yet.![]()

Can't really find one in the group that's very regular. :D
You don't need to be shy about voting. That's why we put up the poll. We are definitely going to have a grand time wherever we end up. It's really more about the fellowship of crappie fanatics than it is about the fishing...right guys? Ok, maybe the fishing is pretty important too.

You can go and check out this thread. It has the list of lakes and links to campgrounds at the lakes. That was one of the prerequisites for the lake suggestions, that they have campgrounds and boat ramps. Several of us are planning on making a weekend of it.
