Hb 5319....bad, Bad, Bad!
If you haven't alread been informed about this proposed bill, you need to. This bill will be bad for many people and opens the door for more government intrevention in private affairs. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMEN AND REPRESENTATIVE on this one!
Attached is the bill and an email to a coworker from Representative Haveman.

Dear Andy,
You are correct that HB 5319 would place groundwater in public trust and require landowners to secure a permit from the state in order to use that water. HB 5319 is unnecessary because Michigan has abundant water, but many environmental groups believe that all water should belong to the government. Increasing governmental control of water would not only be taking of private property, but would threaten economic growth. Having abundant water is one asset Michigan has to attract business.
I do not support this bill and will vote against it when it is presented in committee or on the House floor. Thank you for contacting me concerning this issue.
Sincerely,
Joe Haveman
