In my mind it's never too early to start talking about our spring fishing outing. There was some talk last year about finding a good location more centrally located than Gun Lake.
I'm in for wherever during the month of May. As usual, I like to make a weekend of it and pull the rig. The wife enjoys that too. I suggest that those who are SERIOUS about making the outing happen, post some recommendations on good crappie lakes. We can take those recommendations and post them as a poll to see who is all planning on coming as well as their personal preference for a lake to fish.
I'll give this post a couple of weeks to see what replies I get, and then move from there.
Just a reminder that last years outing was fun, we got to put faces to names, and we did eat well to boot!

For all of you that don't know last Fall we had a great time Don and his gang did a great time hosting this. I also agree its time to start planning for this, as far as lakes i don't have any in mind right now but i will start doing some research on some lakes mid state area .
im always researching lakes looking for crappies, but my first entry is Martiny lakes in mecosta county. there is a campground- its rustic, but ithink its kind of central in its location. so look it up there is info on dnr site bout the lake and campground,Martiny Lake State Game Area in Mecosta County

Funny you should mention Martiny Kevin. I was just looking it over this afternoon. I guess "centrally located" is subjective to where you live. We will have to see how many other CDCers from Michigan chime in on suggestions. If they want to sway our location they will have to get on board.

I can centrally locate myself anyplace that is suggested. It is always a nice way to get together and learn a new lake and some new tricks from different people. I could mention alot of different lakes but it is always going to leave someone out from being "Centrally" located.
I'll put it this way, "have rods and reels, boats, guns, bows, dog, and truck and willing to travel"!!
this should be a group effort, and all that intend on coming should input as much as possible on the subject. i think where ever the lake is located, as long as there are slabs in it then its centrally located. thats the bottom line for me![]()
