    Default Place for kids???

Looking for a place to take wife and kids that has fun things around for kids to do and maybe on a lake or near by a lake with good fishing for me. Would prefer cabin type....lodge. But a hotel could work if it had to. Anyplace within 3 hrs. of the Indiana line would work for me. Any ideas? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris

Default Silver lake has plenty to do.

Just north of Muskegon. Good lake w/ some good fishing and all sorts of touristy things. Also plenty of accomodations. Try doing an internet search.

    Default time of year

    Chris,

Yankee Doodler is right, the Muskegon area is one of your best bets. It really just depends on what time of year you are planning, what you like to fish, what the kids want to do. If it is in the summer then I would definatly say Muskegon. You have Michigan adventure amusement park and water park just north of Muskegon, you have a mall in Muskegon, you have Grand Rapids just south of Muskegon that has everything under the son to do, plus you are right on Lake Michigan and we all know the wife and kids love the beach. As for you there are only about 100 lakes within 20 minutes of that area. Everything from silver lake to lake Michigan. You could pick what you want to fish and go to a local bait shop. Someone will point you in the right direction. If you come in the summer you are also in the perfect time to hit Lake Michigan for Salmon and Stealhead. Grand Haven is right up the road and they have a boat that goes out for perch. I hope this helps you out some in make a decision on where to go.
