Still off work with this darn vertigo. Dr gave me some motion sickness tablets. Seems to help but what really helps is concentrating on one specific thing. Good thing ice fishing requires you to stare at a hole in the ice.

Sunday fishing again was rotten. Didn't matter what I did, what I had on, or where I went the fishing was lousy. I brought a new guy with me (never been ice fishing). We caught 15 keepers and he thought it was a great day. We fished for 5 hours so the math didn't add up for me.

Monday I fished in Lansing. The ice seems to be quite a bit thinner than towards the Jackson area. We found some big crappies in 28FOW down about 18 feet. Never marked then nor found the school. It was like blind fishing in the hole with a flasher. Didn't mark the fish as they came in from the side. I drilled holes to every side and still couldn't narrow in on them. I also caught 5 keeper perch and one was 13 inches. I didn't have the pronounced belly like a normal perch this time of year. It looked like a walleye body. We got into the gills but that was hit and miss. Drill 50 holes and find three with fish stacked from the top to the bottom. You could work em and they would bite but after you caught all the marks they would move. Then you had to look again but when you found them you found them. Again, 28fow stacked from 8to the bottom.

Wednesday I took my 3 year old daughter out to a local pond. She loved watching my flasher (fish stacked from 2 to 8 foot). Couldn't tell you how deep it was as there were so many fish. She caught one large mouth about 14 inches and a couple of others. She loved reeling in the fish. I have never done well for big fish in this pond but it is close and offers alot of catching for a young kid. We did catch about 8 small crappie. In a couple of years I suspect we might do quite well on this lake. Assuming people don't abuse it and take out all the big ones. 1 hour and 10 minutes and she was cold. We had fun and that was the purpose.

Tomorrow I will fish someplace. Still looking for a partner for tomorrow so if anyone is interested shoot me a message and i'll get back to them as I should be online for awhile.

Hot colors on monday was chartruse and lime green. Very little on green, orange or yellow. I should have tried purple as that lake is notorious for doing well with purple.

I got venison sausage on the smoker so it could be a long night.
