It seems like that is happening on the west side of the state right now. I don't know if it is the pressure on the ice due to snow load, or the systems that keep coming of the lake but the fishing is slower than the middle or east side of the state. Still beats no fishing at all.

Broken rod, reel fell apart, ripped bibs, I hate to Jinx you and say that things don't sound like they could get much worse so I'll go with a different stratagy that might help you out... It goes something like this: "honey, I have had that rod forever, I don't think I could ever find another one but I'm going to try... I loved that reel, they don't make them anymore but they have one that is close but it costs a little more than my old one did...My bibs were so warm but not waterproof but I hear this company called clam has these bibs called Icearmor that are rip stop and waterproof.... I broke my auger, I wonder if I could hook a bit to your electric mixer?...

Of course, if you are not married then I guess you don't need permission to buy new gear, just an excuse to buy it.... Happy fishing
