Haven't been there in a couple weeks best so i decided to dodge the rain shower's and try it for a few hours.
Kind of nice since most of the weekend power boaters went home and the weather been cool lately , the water had dropped to 72 degs. I ended up catching around 8 crappie in 2 1/2 hours i was out there, the first one i caught was around 9 inches and the others were tiny ones. Not sure since i haven't fished this lake after spawn if this is what the fishing is like or could be do to the bad weather we been getting but looks like the good bite is slowed down![]()
Were you fishing the same relative water depth when you caught those? Could be you were in the "little guy" neighborhood. The mature ones might have been deeper. Seems I read some posts along that line from some of the boys down south where the water temps climb higher earlier in the season. I don't think the cooler weather and water temps will necessarily bring them back to shallow water unless it stays for a while. Just my opinion.
Good to see ya got out Jim.

Life has many choices, eternity has two...choose wisely.
Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
well tried it again and the tiny ones were at it again. tried the same 10 to 12 ft range and even went out deeper and no bite out there. Water temp was 75 with many boats bouncing me around. I ended up going to the store on the lake for a brown bag break and called it a night of fishing
