the fall bite will be here soon, and in many lakes the powerboats and jetskis will be absent. so theres only one thing that would be missing- MichC.com members and friends gathering once again!!:D lets do a poll or vote on a couple lakes, if anyone is interested?

Well those of us from this neck o the woods know that Gun would be a great lake to fish and it has a campground for those who might want/need to make us of it.
I have also read some good reports on Lake Cadillac and it's crappie population and size range. There is also a campground up there.
Guess we all need to do some online research and see if there are other lakes more centrally located that hold good speck populations. I think we all want to catch fish this time, right?

with the lakes that are mentioned would all be good one to fish but most are getting a little to north for some of the east siders like mmavel for instance, my quick first choice would be Gun Lake
Greetings all,
I contacted my friend at the DNR fisheries. He sent me this list of the best crappie lakes around Lansing. I pasted the list below. I have no idea about any of these.
"Mr. Maveal,
Gary asked me to contact you.
The best crappie lakes near Lansing are listed below in order of lakes with the most crappie:
Lake Ovid
Muskrat Lake
Saubee Lake
Duck Lake
Lake Lansing
Good Luck!
Jay"

saubee does not have a boat launch any more, and I personally was not impressed with ovid, although the last time i fished there was probably over 10 years ago.
gun is a good choice , LOTS of parking, and state park if anyone is camping.
jordon lake has a good population of crappie, but it can be a bit tough in the summer.

on those lakes. All with the exception of Lake Ovid have fair ramps and no camping facilities for those who might be thinking of that. Sleepy Hollow State Park sits on Lake Ovid.
Still have to do more research on actual fishing.

Little fish lake cassopolis, michigan.check it out on [url=http://www.cottages.org]Vacation cottages, vacation cabins, /arnolds lakeside cottages. This lake is a small lake very few boats and crappie up to 15 inches most around 12 inches. There are only three spots to park and the public launch, but maybe arnold will let us use his ramp(arnold is a great guy, with a great ramp)I pay ten bucks each time I use his ramp but it is worth it. P.S. little fish near dutch settlement road.I know it is not near lansing, but this is a place everyone can and will catch fish.
