Family is getting together at my older sister and bro-in-laws over in Howell on Lake Chemung. I fished it last year and caught a few gills, but no specks. This year I know the lake better and hope to hit them.
The lake has some good break lines and weed growth w/ one nice submerged island. Gonna see if I can get my older brother out real early one morning before the pb's get going.
I'll try to get some pics of the whole thing to share. Leaving tomorrow evening as Fri. is a holiday for us.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the family.

Had a great time with the family and did get out a couple times. Once early and once later in the evening just before dark. I hate trying to fish through salad. Aargghhh.
We managed to catch lots of little gills and punkinseeds and the wife landed one crappie. I'm beginning to think this lake doesn't have a good population of specks....or maybe the fisherman just doesn't know how to fish it????

Gotta love those expressions

Very few crappie in Chemung from what I have seen.
Heck of a nice bluegill and pumpkinsead lake, though. Gets hit hard during the winter.
