Thread: yamaha 150 vmax

I am having a cold start issue with my yammy... the fast idle lever is not doing anything on the motor..... it has the hot foot throtle, do you think maybe that its aftermarket and they disconnected the fast idle and timing advance when they hooked up the hotfoot?
any ideas would be helpfull

I am not an expert but I own a couple of Yamahas and do my own work. It is hard to say what someone else did when the hotfoot was installed. Does your electric choke work? If not, fix it. Next, get one of your helpers to "feather" the hotfoot and you watch the throttle linkage on the power head to see what it does. Maybe all you need is a slight adjustment. Good luck Jerry

warm up lever will not work with hot foot because throttle cable isnt connected in control box just mash the hot foot just a little thats your warm up lever. my yami will not start unless i have throttle craked open a little
