Motor Controls....2 Stroke to 4 Stroke
Been kicking around the idea of getting me a 4 stroke motor to replace my 2 stroke. Will the controls match up? Got 60 hp. Yamaha (2003) and will be getting a 4 stroke Yamaha. Im guessing the steering cable should work. Thanks Billy

I can't be sure, but I think the throttle, shift and steering cables will be fine. As far as wiring, if the connectors don't match up, Yamaha will probably have adapters. I just swapped out a 1988 Yamaha 200HP for a 1996 250 HP Yamaha. Everything hooked up the same except for 3 small wiring connectors, trim gauge, remote oil tank, and the tach. Adapters were available for all 3. Cost me $100 for the adapters though. With your 2 stroke being a late model, I'd bet everything would be plug and play. A quick call to a Yammie dealer should give you your answers.

Yeah, I try and go to Oceana every year to the air show there and check them out. Amazing. Good vids on youtube.com too. Billy
