PanMan and Charger...I'm glad you posted that over here...I wanted to move the fuel filter thread from the main to here because you guys had some GREAT photo's of your installs, but there was no way to do it. I wanted to get them in this forum...thanks!!

Downwind just make sure you have clearance to remove the element. Don't want to sound demeaning or nuthin' but lookin' at PanMan's pics it looks really close. Apologies if I offened anyone.

After checking for room to mount I have decided to go under the lid as you did Yankee D. I can see me banging something against it if it's mounted outside.
That fuel rated hose--Is it 5/16 in diameter? Also a question on replacement filters- If at some time down the road I change to a different type, say one with a sight glass, I'm guessing they all fit the mounting bracket. Right?

Downwind...you'll have to check to be sure it will fit...there are different brackets for different filters, but most will fit. Find out which lines your bracket will fit and go from there. I'm sure there are numerous filters that will fit it. Just check before you buy. Been there done that...lol.

Most fuel line on boats is 5/16" to 3/8". Make sure you have the right fittings for your boat...if not they can be picked up at the hardware store.

check the bracket. You can't see it in the pics, but the splash pan gusset that I mounted the head unit of the filter/seperator to has a "lip" that is approx. 3/4" deep. I had to "stand off" the filter head so my intake and discharge lines would clear.

Sierra and the others make several diff. elements that should fit your head. Some have sight glass systems and some don't.

My fuel lines were 3/8" BTW. Should say it on the lines if you can still read 'em.

Well got my separator installed. Had to move the battery up to make room. Not real thrilled about the proximity to battery but it's the only way I could get it to fit.

That looks good to me. Is it safe to use zip ties on the hose barbs like that? I need to do that to my boat also think I will be using stainless clamps on mine though.

Have a tool that chinches them down tight, but will probably use the clamps as added security.

Downwind, I noticed the zip ties too. Get rid of those and use hose clamps. Hate to see your boat catch fire....or worse.
