question, can the transducer cable be spliced when going from one brand of unit to another?? will it work as well as running a new wire?? have 92 tracker and the wire is run from factory and not sure i can pull one in with it...any help appreciated..thanks much.

Yeah I wouldn't attempt it. Even if you did get it spliced together I think you would get interferance...most of those cables are shielded...If you really want to know what to do find Cane Pole...he is "THE MAN" when it comes to electronics. PM him or post on the electronics forum.

One brand fishfinder will not use another brand transducer in most cases.

I don't know if its an eagle or lowrance but many of them use the "skimmer" transducer...if you are talking eagle and lowrance they will go back and forth in alot of cases...but not humminbird and I do not know about gramin.
