Thread: 50 hp Mercury Temp Alarm

I changed out the impeller on my Merc 50 yesterday. I took it out today and tested it and after 30 minutes running around the temp alarm went off. I shut down immediately and used trolling motor to return to ramp and loaded boat and returned home. I found the problem was the boot that connects the pump to the supply line had not seated properly. After fixing the problem i borrowed a motor muff to check tell tail out but when i turn the key on the alarm still sounds. Its been 5 hours and the motor is cooled down. Does the temp alarm have a reset? Any help would be appreciated.
