i have a 90 hp tohotsu,i have had it 7 years an it was unhooked when i got it ,dont really know how long its been unhooked, but so far so good ...
ok so how do you unhook it on my '86 120L Johnson??
Gilby aka Bill :D
I remove the oil injection system from my 1996 Merc 150efi a few years ago and never looked back.
yes do it,,,you will not have a problem,,,unless you mix it wrong![]()
Gilby asked how to unhook one. I'm a little mechanical and the process isn't that involved. There was a shaft(I think) that had to be put into mine when the pump and shaft from it were removed. Just make sure you do it right. I believe mine had a bearing or bushing that had to be held in place or removed or it would fall out and float around inside the crankcase. Cost wasn't too bad to have a pro do it and that's what I chose to do.

Do you just unhook the hose?Whats involved in unhooking the VRO? What mix do you run 50:1?I don't trust mine anymore, looks like a cropduster at low speeds.
my buddy is a marine mechanic and i had him take care of the oil injection on my 1996 johnson venom, all he did was pulled the origional vro off and replaced it with basically the same type of pump but it came with the oil injection blocked off.the new pump came from dusky marine and was less than $100.00.
