    Default trim motor problems

I have a mercury 125 and sometimes it doesnt want to trim up when I am unloading it, but first I just push the button on the motor and bump it down and then it works just right, I have replaced the relay, and earlier I did need a new switch on the motor but I sometimes have to bump it down at the steering wheel or motor it is like you have to wake it up any suggestions so I dont get stranded thanks!

Sounds like a simple connection problem to me, but some of these merc guys probably have a correct answer

Have you checked the fluid ? I had one doing the same thing and it was just a little low.

I would check all the connections very closely, especially any in-line fuse holders you may have. Another possibility is a flat spot on the commutator of the pump motor. Meanwhile make sure you know where the manual relief valve is so you don't get stranded.

Most of the mercury trim motors ground through both solenoids.
