Yes. I did have a 14X48 flat bottom, with a 20 h.p. and it helped a lot. If you can, move as much weight forward. If I remember right, my motor was set in the 3rd hole from the bottom, with wing on it. If you troll, it will affect your trolling.

Try tilting the motor in a notch at a time.

I had that problem with my last boat. I ended up adding an outboard wedge that allowed more down trim angle. It fixed my problem.

Bring the bottom of the motor (aka foot) in towards the hull a little at the time and the hopping will stop. This is referred to as adjusting the (trim)
Your boat is trying to ride a wheelie because the motor is trimmed too far back and its pushing the rear of the boat too deep at full throttle which means the front of the boat is too high up.Your motor is plenty strong and you should not need to move any (weight) to the front.
A hydrfoil will help it get to plane at a much slower speed which will give you better fuel economy and it will turn and cross wakes with alot better stability, you can really feel the difference but it will take away about 4 mph from the top end because of the size of the foil producing more drag.
I recommend the hydrofoil on motors below 100 hp.
