Thread: Need Mariner engine info asap!

Going friday to check out a deal that includes a 1997 Mariner 140hp jet drive outboard. Will do a compression test, on water test, and water pump test, but other than that I have no knowledge of jet drives or Mariners. Any advice about known Mariner V6 issues, or jet drive issues would be greatly appreciated!
From what I can gather, the engine is basically a 2 stroke Mariner 200hp, factory labeled as a 140hp due to the fact that it's a factory jet drive.

let me know where the water pump at on that one. but on a serious note check oil injection tubes if equipped should be able to squeeze the line without cracking.
