I ended up taking the quick connect off of my tank and installing a 1/4" npt barrbed connection. Then just slipped the hose on the barbed connection and put a couple of hose clamps. I bought my boat new in 1995 and got a 12 gal tank seperatly. It was a tight fit. What I didn't relaize until this past year, was that the quick connect was sucking air. My 48hp couldn't keep up with a 40hp. After changing this some 13 years later my boat seems to fly. I know there is a 10mph diffrence. Anyway that's my two cents.

If u buy the connection from wally world they aren't going to seal, dont no know which one u have but always buy original replacement parts on gas line connections. U can take 9 out of ten that want even pump up. the only bad thing about barb fitting is if u have more than one tank. good luck
