I was east coast, spent some time on the Elmer Montgomery 1089. Quite a experience. In charge of A gang but ended up running forward engine room also with them steam turbines running generators. Working with that 1200 psi super heated steam is no joke. Learned a lot on there.

I had the same problem the cause was the thermostat was stuck open new stat fixed. Honda put out a memo about this. Motor would not get hot to expand the rings and gas leaked by.

I'll post how it all turns out. Most Honda dealers are as much as 4 weeks out on repairs in my area. Hopefully they get to it sooner than that though.

Just talked to my selling dealer about my motor repair. They are waiting on an order of Honda spark plugs to put in it so they can refill with oil and try it out. They are sticking by their story that I over filled by two quarts of oil. If the oil fill cap is off, the oil filter is off and the motor is in a vertical position with the drain plug off and there is no more oil coming out I don't see over filling by 2 quarts. Owners manual says 7.1 quarts and the dip stick confirmed I was correct. When I asked if the motor was making oil all I got was a grunt over the phone and told again two quarts over. They must think I've never changed oil before. I guess if you do any PM yourself you risk voiding your warranty.
