Not a good serial number. Is it 3cyl, 4 cyl, or 4 stroke? What year?

It's a 1987 3 cylinder. That serial number is stamped on the plate and on the title. It was slow tell tell last year, (kinda of spitering and sputtering).
After setting for the winter, I'm getting nothing after a minute of running.

    Thank for any help

Gear Housing (Drive Shaft) for Mercury / Mariner (50 / 60 HP (3 Cylinder)) Engine

Go down to #23. Should be part number 47-89983T
    Plus it lists Serria number.
Had my head hurting till I figured out how to input serial number the way it would take it. You could order from them or maybe do search and find it cheaper. Need any more help let me know.

I would also order the upper and lower gaskets.
