I was told that it can be done by the ulterra owner unless a component failed. Call Jerry's Trolling motor repair in K.C. 816-591-3984. He's easy to talk to. We discussed it a year or so ago when I was in there for a Motorguide repair. He's a Minn kota authorized repair center. Have your manual handy and familiarize yourself with how the ulterra operates mechanically before calling. I think Minnkota recommends sending it in for reset because many people can't follow detailed instructions. I need to get my hands on the reset instructions in case that happens to me. I looked at the way the Ulterra works and what happens when a manual stow is required. I don't think resetting is that complicated unless you had a component failure. Ice buildup, a loose belt, or prolonged dry shaft will shut em down. Please let us know how it goes.
