    Default Mariner 25hp no start

I think it's a mid 90's model, work boat. I just rebuilt the carb. We're getting spark, although weak, and the plugs are wet - after cranking. Thoughts?

I was just informed, the last times it was used - it would not come up to full rpm, the next trip it wouldn't start.

Little black box on the left side the controller could be going out. I doubt it would be the stator, most of the time when they go you get no fire at all.

Swap it with another one.... I'm not sure on the proper way to check it.... I never got my hands on a service manual or schematic....

I was afraid you say that. No access to another one.

That's a 95 model. Check your fuel for the presence of water. Fuel should be transparent with only the color of the oil that's added. Ethanol blended fuel will become cloudy as water concentrations rise.
    I'd rather be fishing.
