    Default motorguide x3

Two years ago bought a new motorguide x3 used it three times then speed switch went bad got a new one less than a year later motor burnt up. Friend bought a new motorguide x3 second time he took it out the speed switch burnt up also. Is this a common problem or is this just a issue with me and my friendsthanks

Did a little searching. Couldn't find much but on a couple of forum's it seem's that switch is a problem. One guy's got so hot it melted the cover along with the switch. I'm going to post a link to Jones trolling motor. I would call Jack and ask him if there is a more robust replacement switch or some problem that causes switch failure. He should have any parts you would need.

I've been thinking of getting an x3 and from some reviews it seems some guys have mentioned bad switches.
Is yours the digital(variable speed) or the 5 speed?

Both of the ones I'm talking about are 5 speeds...just a hassle taking it to the shop for warranty.

Thanks, I talked to a neighbor who has one and his is a 5 speed. He had to replace his switch too.
