    Default Not crappie but

Took off work at launch today with the sw. winds and caught really nice mess of tautog , got our limit had about 30 alltogether up to 6lbs. Only fished from 1pm to 3:40 pm. Hard east winds coming back for the weekend I here so I guess will be back to smaller water for crappie.

A Tautog (we call em tog ) are salt water fish that live around rocks or shipwrecks or on mussel beds. They are very strong fighters and can be very hard to hook, they have a small mouth with very large teeth that they crush crabs and mussels and stuff that they eat. They are very good to eat with thick white fillets. They are also called Blackfish from New Jersey north. Tog like cooler water as we ussually catch them best in the fall and spring and a little farther offshore in the middle of winter.I don't know how to post pics myself I have a bunch of pics here at my house and out on the shed wall were I have fishing pics up. They are a blast to catch, very good fighters.
