    Default Water Temp Question

As shallow areas are the first to warm up. Are they also the first to cool off?

Yes, along with the surface water, as they cool the water gets heavier and will eventually displace the warmer water underneath creating the inversion or roll-over that we see. Wave action action along the surface will pile up the cooking water int he shallows, also.
