When I first started crappie fishing I thought that spider rigging would be great to learn in order to get more fish in the boat. Since I've determined I am not a tournament or competitive fisherman I've realized that putting fish in the boat was not my cocain fix, buzz, or rush while crappie fishing. It was the tactile strike indication that I got from the thump that really charged me. The use of visual strike indicators for spider rigging or pulling cranks just didn't seem like a fit for me. Although I do enjoy reading about how it is done just in case push came to shove and I was really needing to put fish in the boat. The infinite variations for crappie fishing really makes it a very interesting pursuit.

I'm with you on feeling the thump, that's what it's all about. Tried spider rigging, never could get into it. I can understand those who do, controlling the boat has to be an art in itself.

Default Up here in MI we are limited to 2 poles per...

but I have additional holders when we make our trips down south where they are a bit more liberal. I posted some of these pics before.

Hey Yankee Doodler, where did you get the black bag hanging on the rod mounts? Looks like one I used to have that was very handy. Would like to get another one.

For those that have spider rig set up's--do you take them apart when pulling your boat or just leave them in place?

I think I picked that up at Lowes, or Menards. Pretty sure it was Lowes tho. Think its in with the tool pouches and things like that. AWP brand FWIW. Hope this helps.
