    Default Fishing without minnows

Ok folks. I'm headed out for a few hours and have decided to leave the minners at the sto. I feel like I'm going to school naked.

I've got 10lbs worth of every BG, RR, mr crapppie tackle and not to mention the best scent known to fish. Wish me luck. Hope I don't run out of garlic!

One thing that I have learned with fishing artificial baits. After using minnows for many years(and I do still use them some) is fish it slow and when you do, slow down some more.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Been a couple of decades since I've used bait. You'll do just fine.

Where I Fish it depends on water temp which bait I use. This morning water temp was a balmy 43 degrees so minnows got the job done. No large numbers, fish are still in main basin, but the ones I caught were over 13. None were located near structure, just roaming around deep water, 13-15 down over 20 fow.

I'll use minnows until the fish move to the banks but not until.

I ended up pushing jigs around for a couple hours. Caught 3 nice ones but wasn't keeping today. I'll keep to the jigs, mixing me in with minnows till I get some more confidence. I did get a road runner pic for the contest though..

Too bad I’m not a selfi pro. That’s a 14” slab! Just compare her mouth to the 1/16oz RoadRunner
