spyderlocs will stay where you put them.
The easiest to adjust rod holder I've seen or used is the Millineum. No tools needed and the toothed bases of the holders and the T bar prevent any turning at all. They're going to stay where they are set. Amazon Prime, 2 day delivery and very good price. That's not where I ordered mine, but if I had it to do over again, that's where I'd get them.

I really like my Millineum Spyder Loc like everyone else said very easy to adjust and they adjust anyway you can thank of with no tools and there very well made. If you was closer you would be welcome to come look at them I bet you can find someone close to you that would let you look at theirs.

The picture Eagle1 posted is of Spyder Loks from Millenium. Which is what I and most of the members here recommend. I bought a set this year and love them. Used Hi-tek in the past. They arent bad either but I prefer my new Spyder Loks.

Millennium Spyderloks with out a doubt - I have used them all over the years and the Spyderloks are the cats meow, with one exception.. not American made.
i've had drift masters for 10 years now. got two sets of four for christmas one year. they have served the purpose but i have the same problems from time to time that you are. ive never had a rod come out but they will move on a big fish or snag and it does take a wrench to lock em down. i've done my homework and i think like everybody stated spyder locks are probably the way to go. by the way the base plates for the spider locks are almost identical to the ones with the driftmaster so you can mount the new bases right where the others were.
Spyderloks are solid, and can adjust to just about any way you want. I have three sets on my boat and can spider rigging, long line, or switch over and drift for catfish. Or drag crawlers for walleye. The downside is... They are big and bulky. The hi teks are really nice too, and I like the ease of use. Look at both and choose on how you plan to fish.
