If you go to Tracker website the Heritage isn’t listed anymore so guess they aren’t taking any more orders.

That’s where I bought mine from. Excellent service and everyone involved with my purchase was top notch. I’m going from a Bullet to the Tracker and I already have a feeling I will like my Heritage more. Fits my style of fishing better.

Hey everybody. I'm a new member here. I recently purchased a new heritage and live it! Has anyone made ant mods to their heritage yet? I'm in the process of picking out some rod holders for trolling. Any recommendations?

There are many different brands of rod holders & all of them work just fine. Some are made by or represented by our members. For me, it boils down to fit & function. Many come in different heights & some are adjustable in that regard. Many are made with a simple configuration of the holder (cradle & loop) like the Bee Ready holders, Cumberland Crappie 360 holders, Hi-tek brand holders .... and others have a U or V shaped cradle like the Spider Loks, Driftmaster, and Tite-Lok.

I use Hi-Tek rod holders, myself. I have used other brands (in other peoples boats) and did not care for the ones with the V shaped cradles or ones that have the adjustment knobs inside the cradle/loop assembly, because I was constantly jamming my fingers on the knob or getting punched in the palm by the cradle prongs when picking up the rod. I did like the idea of having adjustment knobs on each holder, so I purchased knobs to replace the bolts that come on the Hi-Tek holders. Now all I need a wrench for is to tighten the T-bar down in the base.

    Here's a pic of my setup :

One problem many people face is the holders getting in the way of the trolling motor deployment .... so I set my base back a little on the trolling motor side, and that with the short face of the cradle of my Hi-Tek holders allows me to simply turn the T-bar parallel to the trolling motor and raise/lower with ease.

I also use the HiTek holders. I bought a new boat about 2 1/2 years ago and bought 4 new sets because I left my original sets on the boat I sold.
As far as needing a wrench to to adjust them I got a wrench that is open on both ends and is 1/2" on one end and 9/16" on the other. The 1/2" end fits the HyTeks and the 9/16" fits the nut on my trolling motor prop for when I get a line caught in the prop.

Thank you both for the response. I new to this and trolling is what I know best, but is not what I have mastered

I am limited on funds but really like y'alls setups. Not sure whether to fish 2 poles (me and the wife 1 each) or save for a long while and purchase the nice adjustable holders

You see those black things on the inside of the gunnels of my boat in the picture .... those are the bases for those plastic rod holders like the Wise Rod Tender rod holders. Not sure of the brand because I don't use them, they came with the boat when I bought it from a friend. You can buy a 2pk of them from Cabela's for around $10. ( https://www.cabelas.com/product/Wise...E&gclsrc=aw.ds )

The ones in the above link look to be adjustable so that you can change the angle of your rod. The ones I have are not adjustable and the rod is at a 45deg angle. They'd be suitable for using to see if you really want to get into the various trolling methods that a multi-rod holder system would allow. You "could" even have a pole in the holder for each of you and have one in hand, allowing you to use 2 rods each.

If you have the DIY spirit & capability .... I can see where you could make a mount for these types of holders, purchase a couple of 2pks and have a 4rod holder system that you can fish out the front of the boat much like my setup allows me to do.

You can also keep your eyes on the Personal Classifieds Forum, as there are rod holders sold on there occasionally. It's where I purchased mine.

And just for clarity : those black cup holder thingys do not come with the rod holders. They're add-ons called "Rogers Handi Hold-it Supply Caddy". My rod setup is a 14' & 10' rod in the left holder & 14' & 6' rods in the right holder ... I was Pushing jigs the day I took that picture, which is why the rods are pointed 45deg and not straight forward like a Spider Rigger would have them. At 1mph, even the 14' rod's line would be perilously close to the trolling motor prop. Pointing straight forward, I lose about 2' of rod length ... so that's also something to consider when you decide on getting rods & "nice adjustable" rod holders & plan on doing any Spider Rigging.
